Is time to sell your old android phone?

Android is one of the most used OS in the world, and a lot of people own more than one devices, so, is it time to get rid of that old phone that you've been clinging to even after you got a new phone? I hope the points listed below help you answer the question for yourself.

  • Warranty- Is your device still under warranty?
  A number of devices come with a warranty of just one year, and a majority of users don't consider this criteria good enough, but the thing is that finding the right parts of old devices that are not under warranty is tough and might cost you more. And if you think that dropping your device to the ground once can break it, its better to buy a new one, than taking risk, after all, its just a phone, it wont mind if you get a new one.
  • Battery life- How long does the battery last?
 Does your battery last all day or are you just clinging on to that device because of the memories or because of that one extra SIM card that you have?if you just need it for that extra SIM card, then advise selling it before its market value becomes zero.
  • Price- Does the phone still have market value?
 Try putting your device for sale on some online portal, if the price you get there is way below what you bought it for, then most probably its time to sell it, and that too before it runs out of value, it it might end up in the trash, and thrown away.
  • Thought- Idea of selling?
  Does the idea of selling it not sound good? or is it a precious gift from someone you love, whose memory you want to cherish forever, if yes, then don't sell it, and if you like it too much, get it packed, using might damage it, or just use it and sell it, its just a phone you know! a piece of plastic and some other materials.
  • Updates- regular and timely updates?
If you are getting regular and timely updates, then it is good to go, otherwise, even the company doesn't like that phone anymore, and most probably they have stopped even manufacturing it. its timeto get rid of it.

                   OH! by the way, did you get the stagefright vulnerability patch yet, read more about the megabug stagefright herehttp://goo.gl/ezeZMt
  • Stagefright- have you got the patch?
Stagefright is a very big vulnerability, and the host phone can be hacked by a simple message, the user doesn't even need to open it. So, did your company give you an update yet? if not then they're probably not interested anymore, and you also better not be. Get rid of that.

                             Read more about the megabug stagefright herehttp://goo.gl/ezeZMt Its really a MasterBug.

  • Updates
Do you get regular updates? or was the last update years ago?

  •  Patches
Does the company fix any bugs or anomalies that you report via updates or do the "experts" at service centers recommend formatting device a solution for each one of your problems?
  • Newer Android versions?
What android version is your smartphone running? does it even feel like an smartphone anymore, or does it feel like any average or 'not smart' phone? :p
  • Screen?
Is the screen scratched after all that usage and you don't want to get that replaced because it's not available in market or you think it costs too much?

A bad screen not only spoils your eyes, but is also harmful for your public image. you care for you public image right?  Oh look, the girl/boy(opposite gender :p) to your left(if any) is looking at you. :p
  • Resolution?
Does the screen support HD videos, the era of 4K resolution is coming, and if your smartphone can't even play HD videos, then sorry but its not smart enough.
  • Software Support?
Do the new games and software support your phone, or are you still stuck with playing Flappy Bird on your phone(its a nice game, i still play it though, nice game).
  • Radiation?
Is the radiation level certified by the respective authority of your country, if not, then most probably its affecting your body right next to where you keep it(you know where), and might also affect your future generations. :p

In this case,get rid of asap, and in case you don't know what 'asap' is, google it!(its not dirty, hey but your smartphone might be!)
  • Dirty?
When they say(i don't know who) that your smartphone has more germs than a toilet handle, they really mean it. Again, I don't know who they are or why they say it, but still, it's really dirty. Remember all those cold and flu's, and everything,after all those years the germs are still there, and some of then i guess like the songs and videos you play(why else would still be there? btw what videos do you play when your'e alone?).
  • Freeze
                   Does you phone freeze while using?

                    if (brand=='Samsung')
                    {cout<<"live with it, even their flagship phones hang, or sell it";
                     }
                  else
                   {cout<<"sell it if factory reset doesn't fix it";
                    }
