Is time to sell your old android phone?

Android is one of the most used OS in the world, and a lot of people own more than one devices, so, is it time to get rid of that old phone that you've been clinging to even after you got a new phone? I hope the points listed below help you answer the question for yourself.

  • Warranty- Is your device still under warranty?
  A number of devices come with a warranty of just one year, and a majority of users don't consider this criteria good enough, but the thing is that finding the right parts of old devices that are not under warranty is tough and might cost you more. And if you think that dropping your device to the ground once can break it, its better to buy a new one, than taking risk, after all, its just a phone, it wont mind if you get a new one.
  • Battery life- How long does the battery last?
 Does your battery last all day or are you just clinging on to that device because of the memories or because of that one extra SIM card that you have?if you just need it for that extra SIM card, then advise selling it before its market value becomes zero.
  • Price- Does the phone still have market value?
 Try putting your device for sale on some online portal, if the price you get there is way below what you bought it for, then most probably its time to sell it, and that too before it runs out of value, it it might end up in the trash, and thrown away.
  • Thought- Idea of selling?
  Does the idea of selling it not sound good? or is it a precious gift from someone you love, whose memory you want to cherish forever, if yes, then don't sell it, and if you like it too much, get it packed, using might damage it, or just use it and sell it, its just a phone you know! a piece of plastic and some other materials.
  • Updates- regular and timely updates?
If you are getting regular and timely updates, then it is good to go, otherwise, even the company doesn't like that phone anymore, and most probably they have stopped even manufacturing it. its timeto get rid of it.

                   OH! by the way, did you get the stagefright vulnerability patch yet, read more about the megabug stagefright herehttp://goo.gl/ezeZMt
  • Stagefright- have you got the patch?
Stagefright is a very big vulnerability, and the host phone can be hacked by a simple message, the user doesn't even need to open it. So, did your company give you an update yet? if not then they're probably not interested anymore, and you also better not be. Get rid of that.

                             Read more about the megabug stagefright herehttp://goo.gl/ezeZMt Its really a MasterBug.

  • Updates
Do you get regular updates? or was the last update years ago?

  •  Patches
Does the company fix any bugs or anomalies that you report via updates or do the "experts" at service centers recommend formatting device a solution for each one of your problems?
  • Newer Android versions?
What android version is your smartphone running? does it even feel like an smartphone anymore, or does it feel like any average or 'not smart' phone? :p
  • Screen?
Is the screen scratched after all that usage and you don't want to get that replaced because it's not available in market or you think it costs too much?

A bad screen not only spoils your eyes, but is also harmful for your public image. you care for you public image right?  Oh look, the girl/boy(opposite gender :p) to your left(if any) is looking at you. :p
  • Resolution?
Does the screen support HD videos, the era of 4K resolution is coming, and if your smartphone can't even play HD videos, then sorry but its not smart enough.
  • Software Support?
Do the new games and software support your phone, or are you still stuck with playing Flappy Bird on your phone(its a nice game, i still play it though, nice game).
  • Radiation?
Is the radiation level certified by the respective authority of your country, if not, then most probably its affecting your body right next to where you keep it(you know where), and might also affect your future generations. :p

In this case,get rid of asap, and in case you don't know what 'asap' is, google it!(its not dirty, hey but your smartphone might be!)
  • Dirty?
When they say(i don't know who) that your smartphone has more germs than a toilet handle, they really mean it. Again, I don't know who they are or why they say it, but still, it's really dirty. Remember all those cold and flu's, and everything,after all those years the germs are still there, and some of then i guess like the songs and videos you play(why else would still be there? btw what videos do you play when your'e alone?).
  • Freeze
                   Does you phone freeze while using?

                    if (brand=='Samsung')
                    {cout<<"live with it, even their flagship phones hang, or sell it";
                     }
                  else
                   {cout<<"sell it if factory reset doesn't fix it";
                    }

I Hope you know now what you want to do with your phone, for any queries, feel free to contact us.
Damn, i think i need to sell my phone after re-reading it! Anyone interested in buying?

Motorola moto g 2015 (3rd gen)- why you should buy

Motorola is famous for its "moto" series since last few years. They are really ruling the market with cheap moto devices. I personally like Motorola because I had used it's moto g 2013 and that was a great device.

Now this is 2015 and Motorola had already launched Motorola moto g 2015 edition in July 2015. In India it is available for Rs 12999 for 2GB model and Rs 11999 for 1GB(starting from $179.99 in USA) . I don't think you should consider 1gb variant just because of such small price difference. This time you will see minor changes in design, mainly in back cover and camera placement.

What you will get for your money-

Motorola moto g 2015 (or 3rd gen) comes with a 5 inch 1080*720 IPS LCD display wi
th 294ppi pixel density. It too have Corning gorilla glass 3 protection which will protect your display from minor scratches. Moto series is also famous for its Google stock android experience so this time you will get Android 5.1 lollipop pre installed. For heavy multitasking you will get Qualcomm MSM8916 snapdragon 410 quadcore processor. It is coming in two variants, 8gb with 1gb ram and 16gb with 2gb ram. You also have option for expanding storage up to 32gb using an external micro sd card(now that's a good feature). If you are a camera lover then you will get a 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and a 5 MP front one.

Another good feature is that moto g 2015 is water proof so you can actually take your phone 1m underwater for about half an hour (well that's something I'm not expecting in this price segment..Good work Motorola). You will also get an option to customize your moto g using lots of colorful back covers.

Who should buy-

Now you know every thing about the software and hardware,but the question arises that who should buy moto g 3rd gen. Let me clear your confusion if you are confused whether to buy or not.
If you want a good display and camera then you can avoid moto g (however screen and camera are not bad, although both are good for an entry level smartphone). For the same price you can buy "Xiaomi mi4i" which have full HD display and a lot better camera.
But for those who want stock android experience with regular updates and great performance, then Motorola moto g 2015 is a must buy. I highly recommend you to buy 2gb variant.
You can go here to buy moto g from Motorola's official site.

Samsung galaxy A8- buy or not

alt="Samsung-galaxy-A8-gold-edition"
Samsung galaxy A8 in gold with beautiful unibody design

Samsung has already leading the smartphone market with its galaxy s6 and galaxy s6 edge. Both phones are making good profits for the company since their launch. There are only few smartphones that can compete with Samsung's flagships.
But in a market like India, we focus on price. Most of the Indian smartphone buyer prefers to go for a budget segment(15k-30k) instead of spending too much money.
So Samsung is presenting its new budget phone called Samsung galaxy A8.

Galaxy A8 is the new smartphone from Samsung. It has a 5.7 inch 1920*1080 super Amoled display with 386ppi . It is also one of the slimmest phone from Samsung. Now Samsung is taking it's phones design
alt="Samsung-galaxy-A8-side-view"
5.9mm thin from sides
seriously.This time they have used full metallic body which looks stunning. Galaxy A8 is only 5.9mm thin,which makes it look beautiful.

It has a great 16 MP rear camera with options like face detection, image stabilization,voice activation, and digital zoom. Galaxy A8 camera is some what like s6 camera. You will get the same UI. Front camera is of 5 MP which is able to take wide shoots.
In terms of hardware specification,it has Qualcomm snapdragom Octacore processor with 2 GB of ram.You will also get a finger print scanner similar to galaxy s6. It is coming with 32 GB built in storage expandable up to 128 GB using external micro sd card. Now this is one of the best feature they are offering. Samsung didn't forget about battery,so they have used a 3050mAh battery that will last for a day on normal usage.

This time I'm fully satisfied with a Samsung's smartphone but still there's something that Samsung should think about.I'm talking about its price point. It is available in India for Rs 32500, which is a little higher for a budget phone. It would be lot better if they cut its price by 5-6k.
Now you might be thinking about it's competitors. So we have newly released Oneplus 2 and Asus Zenfone 2. According to me Oneplus 2 is the biggest competitor with great hardware and software.Oneplus 2 is available for Rs 25000 which makes it a tough competition for Samsung galaxy A8.

Summing up all the things I can say that galaxy A8 is a good device with great look and design. If you want a good looking phone with good performance for around 30k then you can consider Samsung galaxy A8 as an option. If you don't want to spend that much money,then wait for few months till it's price drops by 5-6k.
